WIO are offering businesses and services the opportunity to list their services and to outline their credentials as an inclusive service for LGBTIQA+ population groups in Tasmania.
DATABASE OF LGBTIQA+ INCLUSIVE HEALTH SERVICES
Here you will find a database of Tasmanian health and allied health services who identify as being LGBTIQA+ inclusive. This includes services like counselling, gender affirming care, doctors, and dieticians
WORKING IT OUT TOGETHER
WIOT is an LGBTIQA+ community buddy program, where anyone who identifies as LGBTIQA+ can sign up as a volunteer or participant. WIOT is designed to bring community together to support one another.
LGBTIQA+ COMMUNITY GRANTS
Supporting small community groups to run local events and activities that promote community connection and engagement. Grants up to $750 are available.
Incorporation or auspicing not required.
RAINBOW CONNECTIONS-AGED CARE VOLUNTEER VISITORS SCHEME (ACVVS)
The LGBTI ACVVS supports volunteer visits to provide friendship and companionship to older LGBTI people.
Visits are available to anyone who:
- receives government-subsidised residential aged care or Home Care Packages, including care recipients approved or on the National Priority System for residential or home care packages
- is socially isolated.
Funded by the Australian Government.

AFFIRMATION FUND
WIO’s Affirmation Fund provides funding up to $400 per annum to individual applicants to assist with aspects of gender affirmation. This may include official name and gender changes, necessary health assessments and other gender affirming supports. Guidelines can be viewed here.

CREATING COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
A guide designed for anyone who is considering starting an LGBTIQA+ Peer Support or other interest group. There are a number of suggestions and tips, along with key considerations and a few templates and activities to help to get you started.
